Project Overview

Miled Andos is a single-location beauty salon in Dubai offering hair, skin and nail services to a local clientele. Word of mouth kept the chairs full, but the salon had almost no presence in Google Search or Google Maps, so every new client had to already know the name to find it.

The brief was a full local SEO rebuild: fix the technical foundation the previous WordPress site was built on, standardize the salon's business data everywhere it appeared online, and turn Google Business Profile into a real acquisition channel instead of an afterthought.

Why the Salon Wasn't Being Found

Invisible on Google Maps

The salon wasn't appearing in the local 3-pack for any of its core services, losing walk-in searches to competitors with weaker offerings but stronger local listings.

Inconsistent business data

The name, address and phone number differed across directories, confusing Google and diluting the local ranking signals a single-location salon depends on.

A slow, unoptimized website

Uncompressed images and unused plugins pushed mobile load times past six seconds, on the exact device most local searchers were using.

No structured data

Without schema markup, Google had no reliable way to surface services, hours or reviews directly in search results.

Starting With a Full Diagnosis

Before changing anything, the existing site was crawled with Screaming Frog to map every indexed page, and the Google Business Profile was reviewed against the ranking factors that actually move local search: proximity, category accuracy, review velocity and on-page relevance.

Visibility was benchmarked against five salons competing for the same searches within a three-kilometer radius, which surfaced a page builder generating near-identical service pages — a direct cause of the site's duplicate-content problem.

Fixing the Foundation the Site Was Built On

Fourteen unused plugins were removed, images were compressed and lazy-loaded, and the site moved to a lightweight theme with caching and a CDN in front of it. The duplicate service pages found in the audit were consolidated with canonical tags instead of being deleted, preserving the little link equity they had.

The result was a site that loaded fast enough on mobile to stop losing local searchers before they ever saw a service menu.

One Consistent Business, Everywhere

Name, address and phone number were corrected and standardized across every directory and citation source the salon appeared on, removing the conflicting signals that were holding back its local ranking.

New pages were built for each core service and the neighborhoods it served, linked together with an internal structure designed around how local clients actually search, rather than a single generic services page trying to rank for everything at once.

Turning a Listing Into a Booking Channel

The profile was rebuilt from the ground up: verified categories, a full service menu with pricing, weekly Google Posts and a structured Q&A section answering the questions clients were already asking by phone.

A review-generation flow now follows up with every client after their appointment, turning a steady stream of real visits into a steady stream of real reviews instead of leaving it to chance.

Helping Google Understand the Salon

LocalBusiness, Service,Review and FAQPage schema were added so Google could surface services, star ratings and opening hours directly in search results, not just a blue link.

Every implementation was validated against Google's Rich Results Test and monitored in Search Console to confirm it was actually being read and rewarded rather than silently ignored.

Keeping the Core Web Vitals in the Green

An image optimization pipeline and a deliberate font-loading strategy keep every new page fast by default, and a monthly technical audit catches regressions before they have a chance to affect rankings.

I run the same local SEO rebuild — technical fixes, citation cleanup, Google Business Profile and schema — for other local businesses that are losing customers to competitors they should be outranking.
